I know we're ready to start talking about the Czech mission trip - so I wanted to get in a final word on this year's Amigos project on this new site:
The homeowner of our original project house passed away just before Easter this year. The news was very sad. We grieved for her loss, but God immediately put us to work elsewhere!
Cedar Hill First United Methodist Church signed up for a house this year that ended up far exceeding their capabilities. Bill Hartman, coordinator for all Amigos volunteer churches, learned of this problem only two days before hearing of our homeowner's passing. The sad news that we received turned into good news for CHFUMC and our new homeowner!
As usual, our congregation stepped up to the challenge, and we had 27 volunteers work on our project house over the two weekends. In all, we replaced over 50% of the siding on the house, approximately 25% of the trim & soffets, both the front and back doors, scraped primed, painted, put on two storm doors and installed hand rails on the front and rear steps! We did this all in four days.
